Notes: Gallery August West is excited to present this original second printing of Victor Moscoso’s Neon Rose #6.
Neon Rose #6 is Moscoso at full voltage - a masterwork of vibrating color and optical daring from the height of the San Francisco psychedelic movement. The central figure, rendered in searing orange and pink against a saturated blue field, feels almost suspended between dimensions. The warped, elastic typography bends inward from both sides, framing the image in a rhythmic pulse that is unmistakably Moscoso. Bold, confrontational, and utterly unconcerned with conventional readability.
This is a second printing, a particularly compelling variation of the design. The first printing was produced using a negative image, creating a markedly different tonal experience. Many collectors actually find the second printing more visually appealing for display, as the color relationships feel more direct and saturated in this format. While first printings are exceptionally scarce, second printings remain highly collectible and offer a more attainable path to owning this landmark Neon Rose image.
This example comes directly from Victor Moscoso’s personal collection and has been signed by the artist in pen. Preserved in museum-grade condition with remarkable color integrity and sharpness, it presents at the highest level.
