Series Number: FD-45

Printing/Date: First (pre-concert), 1967

Performer(s): Grateful Dead, Quicksilver Messenger Service

AW Condition Assessment: Character Grade (see notes below)

CGC Grade: 6.0 (see notes below)

Condition Notes: Pinholes, a small, missing corner piece in top left and small tear on top right. Tape residue present on top corners. All issues typical for first printing FD-45s. Most imperfections have been matted out. Colors remain very strong.

Framing Materials:

  • Frame: 3” Wood

  • Matting: Custom Cut, Acid-Free Double Mat

  • Glazing: Conservation Acrylic - blocks 99% of UV light (upgrade to Optium museum acrylic available)

Notes: The original print run of FD-45 was relatively small, and authentic first printings surface rarely. At the poster’s center stands a beautiful female figure draped in flowing green robes, set against a bold fluorescent red sun. Beautiful image from the legendary Mouse/Kelley partnership capturing the early psychedelic explosion of San Fransico.

The CGC-encapsulated poster is housed in an impressive three-inch ornate wood frame. The archival sleeve is not visible inside the frame. Conservation-grade acrylic has been used to provide superior UV protection. The result is truly striking.
