Notes: Gallery August West is excited to present this original, first-printing poster promoting a string of December 1969 Grateful Dead shows at the Fillmore. Many collectors consider this piece by David Singer the finest of his concert poster works. The concert itself was equally legendary. Bill Graham, who did not use drugs, was unknowingly dosed by the Grateful Dead and went on to join them on stage, playing drums for most of the night. Authentic pre-concert BG-205s are notoriously difficult to distinguish from later post-concert printings but can be identified by the presence of a black line in the right margin. We have identified several examples of second printings claiming to be first printings currently being offered online, so please be vigilant when shopping for this piece.
